BUSINESS ANGEL AWARNESS EVENT

WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THE RISKS, REWARDS AND TAX BREAKS ASSOCIATED WITH ANGEL INVESTMENT?

23rd March - 5.30pm - 8pm @ Walnut Suite, St Giles Hotel, Norwich

25 March - 5pm - 8pm @ Ramada Encore, Ipswich

· Did you know the average angel investment is £42,000 but investments start at £10,000? Source: BBAA/NESTA Siding with Angels 2009

· Did you know there are significant tax breaks available for business angels?

· Do you know what makes a good business angel?

· Do you know where your nearest angel group is based?

These questions and many others will be answered at our informal events in Norwich and Ipswich.

Angel investment is an increasingly important source of funding for today’s start-ups, as evidenced by a report from the British Business Angel Association (BBAA) and NESTA (the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts). The report confirmed the importance of business angels in supporting early stage companies and painted a very positive picture of the investment returns.

The East of England has a strong track record for innovation but in the last 18 months, entrepreneurs have spent too much time chasing funding, often in vain. It won’t be long before this has a significant impact on the UK’s capacity to innovate. Here in the East there are things we can do to help. With a number of angel networks in the East of England and a new publicly funded angel co-investment fund due to launch imminently, the time is right for more angels to be encouraged to come forward.

If you would welcome an opportunity to improve your understanding of angel investment, either on your own behalf or a client’s, we would be delighted to see you. There will be an opportunity to talk to members of the BBAA, Business Angels, tax advisors and representatives from the East of England Development Agency’s Business Finance team.
